  • Prepare your manuscript for the single-blind peer review. The manuscript can be submitted either as Word or PDF format. The text is typewritten, double-spaced throughout; pages are in A4 format and numbered, lines should be left numbered in continuum (10-digit numeric system); the text uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed at the end, rather than within the text.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The submission form must contain the full names of ALL authors, using the button "ADD CONTRIBUTORS" with capital letters only for the first letter of authors’ names. Be sure to add ALL the affiliations of ALL the Authors of the article because otherwise they they will not appear online. The author names and affiliations inserted in the online submission system will be those that will be published in PubMed, Scopus, WoS, etc. The Editorial staff is therefore not responsible for eventual inaccuracies or mistakes in the affiliations inserted during the submission process.
  • I understand that this journal charges an Article Processing Fee for publication. I confirm that I will pay the amount due whether my manuscript will be accepted for publication.

  • I confirm that I have indicated the Editor whose expertise is closest to the subject of the paper.

Articles

Articles (5000 words max, abstract 400 words max, 50 references max, 8/10 tables and/or figures max): Original Articles should be divided into: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions and References.
Tables and Figures must be placed at the end of the manuscript; lines numeration is compulsory for the peer-review process.
A maximum of 10 authors is permitted and additional authors should be listed in an ad hoc Appendix.

Reviews

Reviews (5500 words max, abstract 400 words max, 40 to 90 references, 3/5 tables and/or figures): They should be introduced by a general summary of content in the form of an Abstract. Following a short Introduction, putting the study into context and defining the aim, reviews will concentrate on the most recent updates in the field and summarize the state-of-the-art literature. A review should clearly describe the search strategy followed (key words, inclusion, exclusion criteria, search engines, ...). No particular format is required; headings should be used to designate the major divisions of the paper.
Tables and Figures must be placed at the end of the manuscript; lines numeration is compulsory for the peer-review process.

Short Notes

A Short Note is a concise report representing a significant contribution to limnology, which is however not suited as a full research article.
It should not include subheadings (Introduction, Materials and Methods etc.) but should follow this pattern, if appropriate.
The total length of the article should not exceed 2500 words in text with a maximum of 15 references and a total of 2 figures and/or tables. The Abstract should not exceed 100 words.
