Sclerotherapy is the treatment of choice for telangiectasia and reticular veins and represents a useful alternative to other procedures for varicose veins and incompetent perforating veins. Nevertheless, sclerotherapy is often mistaken for a cosmetic and aesthetical treatment, because of a widespread misinformation. Sclerotherapy is not an aesthetic treatment, because it applies to varicose veins, reticular veins and telangiectasia, which are expressions of chronic venous disease. according to CEAP classification.
